When I was looking over these 3-D virtual worlds I realized that these programs may actually have a future purpose in education. These programs have the potential to be educational but I felt it has the greatest potential in college (when it will actually be taken seriously). When I was watching the YouTube video about Second life I thought these programs would relate really well tpo college courses but I think any younger students would end up using it for chatting purposes. If this program continues to grow I hope it can develope a level for different age groups that can help kids have fun and learn at the same time. I think programs like toontown and the magicalkingdom have the potentiall to be educational for kids they just need to add the concepts and quizzes. Second life is a very good program but I would not use it in my classroom until it is appliable to a lower grade level and can keep the kids attention without distracting them from the educational purposes. Games like Neopets teach kids how to properly exchange and earn money. If programs like Secong life could include more concepts like these it would be more appliable to a younger audience.

This website has a review for tons of different educational software fo just about any age group or any subject. I found an educational software program from the discovery channel. This program allows students to explore Earth, Physical, and Life science. The software provides videos straight from the T.v. show. It is interative so the students can explore all of the different forms of science. Kids can explore the labrotory in order to interact digitally with a science lab. I would love to have this program in a classroom. This program is great for kids and it has many interactive programs for kids to use.

Blog# 2 Software
1. Microsoft word: I think this is the most impotant for students to know because they will most likely be using it in any field they enter as a career. Whether they are typing a college paper or a letter to a friend it is crucial for almost everyone. I think it should be taught in 4th or 5th grade.

2. Powerpoint or any type of presentation software: these are very important for high school and college. Students will use these presentation tools throughout school and possibly in a career such as business. I think it should be introduced in 7th grade.
3. Excel: this program is beneficial for any math student or anyone who needs spreadsheet for general use. This could also be used for teachers to generate gardes. I think it should be taught in any high school grade.
4. Photo Editing software: this type of software is important for most people. Many people now have digital cameras and it is important for them to be able to make changes using the computer. This is important for mast people and those who want to be a photographer. This should be taught sometime during high school.
5. Website software: I think sometime during high school student should learn how to make a website. It is important because the internet is becoming increasingly important in society and some people design websites as a career or for their businesses.

Blog #1
I have learned alot about working on computers so far and how it can help education. I enjoyed learning more about technology from this class. During the short period of time I have been in this class I have learned more about computers and what I can learn online than in all of my education so far. I enjoyed learning about blogging and I enjoyed learning about other teaching blogs around the world so then I can participate in them. I also enjoyed learning about different ways children can learn with the internet so they can learn about techenology as they grow. I've never taken an internet class before and I enjoy this one. However the one thing I would change about this class is deadlinees arn't long enough for most college students schedule I extend the deadlines until sunday. The reason for this is most student do their homework during the weekend not during the week. Online classes require more responsibility because you dont have someone reminding you to do your homework and you dont get the in class experience, you also have to take notes on your own time instead of in the set timed class. I dont think I would take another online class because I think I do better inside the classroom. I do enjoy that we have class discussion it makes me closer to everyone in the class, and I dont feel like its individual work.
